Why do wolves in live packs? Where does the eagle build its nest? What does the groundhog do in the winter? What colour does a snow hare have in the summer? Who would like to have answers to these and a thousand other questions is cordially invited to accompany our animal keepers at feeding time or participate in one of our tours.
Felix, the legendary steinbock, was the first inhabitant of our game park and has remained our hallmark today. Felix would be astonished at all that has happened since his beginnings with us: There was at that time above all red deer, today there are 160 animals living in our park belonging to 18 different species. All these animals have either been born with us or originate from other game parks and zoos. Our most important aim is that their requirements in terms of equipment and the society in its enclosures and aviaries are well handled. We are sure that Felix would also be in agreement with this.
For people with a large thirst for knowledge, in addition to the game park in the recreation forest of Feldkirch city, there is also a didactic forest exhibition with over 70 boards from which one learns a mass of information about the forest, about plants and animals, about the cycle of nature, about the climate and condition of the earth.
The small circuit can be covered comfortably in half an hour, the larger circuit takes about one hour in order not only to read the information but also to experience the peace of the environment.
Breakfast in the sun garden, crickets in the Pergola, “Schnitzel” meals in the hunter’s lodge. Such a walk in the game park can make you very hungry.
